Schuyler White

OBU Founder

Nickname: Kaiser

Specialties: Stunt man . Full body burn . Fire . Advanced Stilt Walking, Juggling, Bullwhips, Poi, Fire Eating, Fire Staff, Fire Knives .

Schuyler White started his company in 1999 with Kurt Heubeck and is now the sole owner of the Ohio Burn Unit.  A pyrotechnic and Jack-of-all-trades, Schuyler has become an international performer and well-known stunt artist.  He has worked with two-time Emmy Award-winning Terry James, ETC Productions, and T-Minus Productions.  Schuyler has set multiple world records, including:

• Tallest Flame Breath

• The most people performing simultaneous Full Body Burns

• The most Fire Torches eaten in thirty seconds

With over a decade of training in Tae Kwon Do, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Kung Fu, and Ku Sua Wa, Schuyler incorporates these maneuvers into his performances. 

Currently, Schuyler is training under Sensei Joe Timpone and Sensei Allen Lowe.

Ryan Dover

Nickname: Neo

Specialties: Advanced Poi, Nunchucks (nunchaku), Fire Staff, Juggling

Ryan has been a thrill seeker and lover of new experiences since he was a young boy.  Originally a Glow Stick Artist, Ryan has a style of Poi Spinning all his own. Involved with Flow Arts and Skill Toys since 2007, Ryan quickly progressed to other props such as Nunchucks and Fire Staff. With his eagerness to learn new things and his ability to teach, Ryan has become a Guru in the Poi Community and an important part of the OBU family.

Rachael Logan

Nickname: Rainbow

Specialties: Advanced Poi, Hooping, Flow Wand , Juggling

Rachael has been a part of the Cleveland/Akron Flow Arts Community since 2008.  After a time of painting and drawing, Rachael honed her creativity with Poi.  With years of practice, she has advanced to a Skilled Performer and is a vital teammate of the OBU.  Specializing in Poi and Hooping, Rachael continues to expand her repertoire of Skill Toys.

Goal in Life: Travel the world to share her love of life and express her unique performance style.

Aneaj Bokor

Nickname: The Enchantress

Specialties: Advanced Poi, Hooping, Belly Dancing

This professional dancer is a Fire Charmer with OBU, specializing in Pyro Sword, Double Flaming Scimitar, and Burning Orb.  Our enchantress takes the audience on a magical journey by combining the spirit of light with the ancient art of Belly Dance.  Incorporating fire with Hoops, Fans, and Palm Torches, Aneaj illustrates the power of the elements.  Notable performances include:

Meghan Sturges

Nickname:

Specialties: Poi, Hooping, Yoga

Although she hooped as a child, Meghan found her true calling in Hooping in 2011.  Because of the powerful symbolism they hold in human culture – representing wholeness, infinity, centering, protection – Circles are her favorite shape.  Self-taught and creating her own props, Meghan knows hooping as a way to step outside the chaos that can occur in everyday living.  Harnessing a positive energy flow inside this important symbol lends itself to another passion, Yoga. Now a certified Yoga Teacher, Meghan practices her balance, strength, and meditation in both Hooping and Yoga.  With OBU, Meghan looks to expand her Flow Art Skills in performance.

Kyle McGavem

Specialties: Photography, Videography, Jack-of-all-Trades

Kyle’s schooling, photographic experience, and high standards have landed him the responsibility of capturing the performance feats of the OBU.  Stimulated by the challenges that Fire Show coverage brings, Kyle thrives on recording video that showcases the performers’ talents as well as shooting stills, which accentuate his talents.  Editing video trailers and promotional videos for OBU, Kyle also enjoys capturing candid OBU moments.

Mike Resnik

Nickname: Mikey

Specialties: Photography, Videography

As with Robert, Mike happened upon the OBU by chance.  Being at the right place at the right time, Mike spontaneously photographed the OBU.  Not happy with the results, Mike invested in new equipment and followed the Unit for practice. With his drive and improvement, Mike was asked to assist in OBU’s photography and videography.  When he’s not with the OBU, Mike can be found in the fields on a clear night enjoying astrophotography.
