Poi originated in New Zealand among the Maori culture. The original design was once used in traditional cultural dances. Our modern derivatives are built from Kevlar and steel. One of our most versatile tools, and also one of our most beloved.
Every culture's martial history includes some sort of staff weapon. We take the most simple weapon ever designed and give it an extra flare with a foot of fire on either end. Our solo contact performances are always a crowd pleaser.
An old favorite and an excellent example of the kind of hand eye coordination we seek to develop. Juggling clubs are always well received by audiences.
The single most dangerous act we put on. Everyone's familiar with it and loves it, but few recognize the very real dangers to health and limb, such as Chemical Pnemonia, that our performers risk for this act. Pictured is Schuyler blowing a plume during a gig.
Once known as the king of weapons, the sword is another weapon with a long history. Benjamin Franklin once said "The pen is mightier than the sword... if sharpened to a point, dipped in poison and thrown from about ten feet away, but really, I'd rather have a sword."
Fire makes it even more intimidating.
Now here is something that never fails to draw cheers from a crowd. Our sparkling poi shoot off sparks within a radius of 50 feet. Special accomodations are needed to do this safely, but it is available for some outdoor shows. We also offer a more small-space-friendly version that is safer, but will leave ash all over the performance area.
